Ministry Associate
PRIMARY OBJECTIVESThe Ministry Associate is responsible for connecting those who attend the church into deeper discipleship, community, and ownership. This is accomplished by leading the Guest Services Ministry and supporting mid-week discipleship initiatives alongside the Lead Pastor. They are passionate about recruiting, equipping, developing and coaching leaders so that volunteer teams can be discipled and guests receive the highest degree of service. They empower their volunteer teams and leaders to succeed in Sunday and midweek ministry - ensuring the guest experience is compelling and engaging. They understand that calling people to serve invites them to be a part of the work God is doing through the local church. RESPONSIBILITIES Leads and manages Guest Services and Prayer volunteer teams by recruiting, training, developing, and equipping Leads and team members. Manages the Community Group processes Collaborates on yearly strategy and budget, setting the ministry calendar, and facilitating team involvement. Understands and models the Volunteer Appreciation Strategy, ensuring volunteers feel valued, connected and supported. Ensures the overall guest experience meets Village standards of excellence and champions the Village Brand. Equips, develops, and collaborates with Ministry Leads and serves as Interim Team Lead or Ministry Lead, as needed. Supports the Lead Pastor in caring for the congregation. Leads and administers ministry-specific events and the You Make It Happen class following the approved Event Process. Administrates Village Connect to ensure accurate and timely reporting and follow-up. Oversees the Emergency Response Plan for the site. Manages all relevant equipment and supplies. Participates in Village-wide and regional events. Is a key collaborator for all lobby initiatives and owns the guest experience for major events. Ensures all responsibilities are completed in a purposeful, strategic and focused manner that points people to Jesus. Acts as a servant by inviting, discipling, training and equipping others to serve. Ensures all responsibilities are produced, promoted and led with a high level of innovation and excellence, honouring God at the highest level. Acts with a sense of ambitious urgency, ensuring all work is completed wisely and impactfully. Time is a gift from God. Maintains an openness to being a learner by committing to continuous spiritual, professional, and self-development. Contributes to the best team culture by participating joyfully and working well with peers. Commits to thanking at least one volunteer on a weekly basis. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the Standard of Conduct as outlined in the Village Staff Manual.
