Position Overview

As a Spiritual Care Chaplain at UMHealthWest, you will provide compassionate spiritual support to patients, staff, and visitors across diverse faith traditions, embodying the organization's mission of holistic healthcare and community service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive spiritual care and education to patients, staff, and visitors, respecting individual faith backgrounds and religious preferences
• Maintain positive working relationships with local clergy and community religious leaders
• Utilize electronic medical records (EPIC) to document spiritual care interactions and patient needs
• Facilitate spiritual support across various hospital departments and patient care settings
• Respond to on-call spiritual care needs, including weekend and variable shift requirements

Required Qualifications

• Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree
• Completion of at least one unit of Certified Pastoral Experience (CPE) in a hospital setting
• Minimum of two years experience providing spiritual care in a hospital environment
• Proficiency in electronic medical record systems, with EPIC training preferred
• Board Certification from Association of Professional Chaplains or National Association of Catholic Chaplains preferred
• Training or certification in medical ethics, organ procurement, and end-of-life care is highly desirable
