Chaplain Resident

Position Overview

As a First Year Chaplain Resident at Trinity Health, you will provide compassionate spiritual care to patients, families, and staff across diverse faith traditions while developing collaborative relationships within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff through comprehensive interfaith spiritual care interventions
• Provide crisis intervention, prayers, sacraments, bereavement support, end-of-life care, spiritual consultations, and religious rituals
• Conduct life reviews, worship services, and offer staff emotional support
• Communicate effectively with administrators, colleagues, patients, and family members in written and verbal formats
• Prioritize patient care as the primary organizational mission

Required Qualifications

• College degree in BA/S, MDiv, or equivalent graduate studies in theology, religion, counseling, psychology, or spirituality
• One completed unit of Clinical Pastoral Education from an accredited CPE center
• Ordained or commissioned to function in ministry by an appropriate religious authority as determined by ACPE
• Complete application and referral form at Trinity Health's clinical pastoral education website
