Position Overview

As a PRN Chaplain at MercyOne, you will provide compassionate spiritual care to patients, families, and colleagues, addressing spiritual needs, offering support during life transitions, and facilitating healing within our healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and incorporate Trinity Health's Mission, Vision, and Values in all professional interactions and decisions
• Deliver transformative spiritual care experiences while respecting religious beliefs and practices of patients and colleagues
• Assess and implement spiritual care interventions, including ethics consultations and appropriate referrals
• Conduct professional spiritual assessments and document interventions in electronic medical records
• Develop and participate in spiritual care programs that promote healthy communities and sacred healing environments
• Collaborate with faith leaders from diverse religious backgrounds to support patient spiritual needs

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Theology, Religion, Spiritual Care, or related field
• 1-3 years of Spiritual Care experience, including Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training
• Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) strongly preferred via APC, CASC, NACC, or NAJC
• Completion of 4 units (1600 hours) of ACPE accredited Spiritual Care education
• Faith-based endorsement recognized by certifying agencies
