RN Ministry Float Pool Med Surg

Position Overview

As an RN in the Ministry Float Pool Med Surg, you will provide direct nursing care across medical-surgical units, delivering compassionate and high-quality patient care while supporting SSM Health's mission of exceptional healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize medical-surgical nursing standards to evaluate and enhance patient care quality, systematically developing individualized care plans
• Apply nursing process to assess patients, develop care strategies, and implement interventions across physical, functional, cultural, and spiritual dimensions
• Coordinate with interprofessional teams to assess patient needs, set goals, and provide holistic, compassionate care
• Educate patients and families about health maintenance, restoration, and comfort measures
• Serve as a mentor and role model for nursing colleagues and students
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care tailored to patient's age-specific and clinical needs
• Perform point of care testing and other assigned duties as needed
• Maintain constant alertness and work safely in all healthcare environments

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or equivalent educational credentials
• One year registered nurse experience for Ministry Float; two years for Regional Float
• Current RN license (state-specific requirements vary: Compact State or State Board licensing)
• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from American Heart Association
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform various clinical movements
