Choir Director & Residential Hall Parent

The Opportunity

Mountain Mission School is seeking a Choir Director to lead its student choir program while also serving as a residential hall parent. This role is ideal for a Christian musician, educator, or ministry-minded leader who wants to use music, discipleship, and daily care to invest deeply in the lives of students.

The MMS high school choir has long been known for its unique multicultural sound and its role in representing the mission and story of Mountain Mission School to churches and communities. The Choir Director will teach choir during the school day, support K–7 music electives, help plan choir travel, and serve as part of the residential life of the school.

MMS welcomes candidates with a bachelor’s degree, musical ability, experience working with students, and a desire to serve in a Christ-centered educational setting. Teaching experience, ACSI certification, state licensure, or a background in music education are preferred.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a committed follower of Christ with a missionary mindset, musical ability, a love for students, and the willingness to serve faithfully in both the classroom and residential life of the school.

Must be a follower of Christ and aligned with the mission, values, and doctrinal commitments of Mountain Mission School. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in music, education, ministry, or a related field. Ability to read music and conduct a choir or vocal ensemble. Experience working with students required. Teaching, choir direction, worship ministry, or music education experience preferred. Education degree, ACSI certification, or state teaching license preferred. First Aid and CPR certification preferred. Ability to integrate a biblical worldview into music instruction and student formation. Strong communication, organization, planning, and mentoring skills. Ability to plan trips, coordinate logistics, manage budgets, and communicate with multiple groups. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, residential staff, students, families, and leadership. High level of adaptability, accountability, stewardship, teamwork, and emotional maturity. Must have U.S. work authorization.

Compensation and Benefits:

Mountain Mission School offers a unique compensation model shaped by the residential nature of the role. Starting salary is typically around $28,000, with significant additional benefits and compensation provided through on-campus living and employment.
