Position Overview
The Associate Family Pastor will lead an integrated NextGen ministry that partners with parents, volunteers, and the church family to launch kids and students (infants through high school) into a lifelong faith journey. This vital role will drive Menlo Church's mission by equipping volunteers, providing pastoral support, and developing dynamic ministry environments for young families.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement comprehensive Kids, Middle School, and High School ministry strategies that draw families into the church and foster spiritual growth
- Recruit, train, shepherd, and develop high-capacity volunteers across all ministry age groups
- Create and maintain healthy volunteer pipelines, recognizing individual talents and guiding leadership development
- Provide pastoral care and support for families, proactively reaching out with resources and guidance
- Ensure child safety by screening leaders, conducting mandated training, and maintaining healthy ministry boundaries
- Collaborate with Central NextGen team and campus staff to plan and execute ministry events and services
- Coordinate weekend service preparations and support church-wide events throughout the year
- Develop engaging, age-appropriate programming and worship environments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Theology, Ministry, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in NextGen, Family Ministry, Children's or Student Ministry
- Deep understanding of spiritual formation across developmental stages
- Strong theological grounding and gospel communication skills
- Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and team-building capabilities
- Proficiency with church management systems and collaborative tools
- Active, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Member in good standing at Menlo Church with demonstrated commitment to church mission
