Position Overview
The Protestant Religious Education Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive religious education programs for military personnel and their families at Tinker AFB, creating engaging spiritual learning experiences that respect diverse beliefs while supporting Protestant Christian values.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement comprehensive Protestant Religious Education programs for authorized personnel and families, including weekly classes from pre-K through adult levels
- Manage volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination for all religious education activities
- Develop and execute sacramental preparation programs, including First Communion and Confirmation
- Conduct ecumenical events and Vacation Bible School in coordination with chapel leadership
- Maintain detailed administrative records, including attendance, volunteer rosters, and program schedules
- Develop and manage annual program budgets and facility requests
- Create marketing campaigns using authorized social media platforms
- Ensure compliance with background check and volunteer supervision requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education with 2 years of religious education experience, OR Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 4 years of religious education experience
- Strong knowledge of theology, education, and social sciences
- Demonstrated skills in curriculum development, volunteer management, and administrative coordination
- Ability to obtain appropriate security clearance and pass background checks
- Must be committed to creating a respectful, non-proselytizing religious education environment
- Willingness to pursue Advanced Catechist Certification if not holding a Master's in Theology
