Position Overview
The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive religious education programs for Catholic personnel and families at Tinker AFB, ensuring high-quality spiritual formation and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate comprehensive Catholic Religious Education (RE) programs, including weekly classes for pre-K to adult, sacramental preparation, and retreats
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for all phases of Religious Education programs, ensuring proper background checks and supervision
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote Religious Education, including social media campaigns and regular program updates
- Attend weekend Masses to promote programs, answer questions, and recruit volunteers
- Prepare budgets, submit facility requests, and manage program administrative documentation
- Coordinate with chaplains, leadership, and other RE coordinators for comprehensive program planning
- Maintain detailed attendance records, volunteer rosters, and program schedules
- Attend weekly chapel staff meetings and planning events
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education with 2 years of religious education experience, OR Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 4 years of religious education experience
- Catholic in good standing with ability to obtain Catechist Certification from Archdiocese for Military Services within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of theology, education, and social science
- Proven skills in curriculum development, volunteer management, and administrative coordination
- Ability to obtain appropriate security clearance and pass background checks
- Willingness to pursue Advanced Catechist Certification if not holding a Master's in Theology or Religious Studies
