Associate Pastor

Position Overview

The Associate Pastor at Torrance First Baptist Church is a full-time ministry role dedicated to leading youth ministries, contemporary worship, and supporting church outreach efforts while serving alongside the pastoral staff to advance the church's mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive leadership for Jr. High and Sr. High Ministries, including weekly Youth Group, Sunday Life Group, and monthly events
• Lead contemporary worship for Sunday morning services and all-church events in coordination with the Lead Pastor
• Oversee praise team development, including recruiting, training, and scheduling musicians and vocalists
• Assist with church outreach initiatives and support the Local Outreach Team in community service opportunities
• Manage church web page and social media platforms for Outreach Ministry
• Participate in church staff meetings and assist with all-church events
• Provide occasional preaching during Sunday services
• Create and manage all-church visual and graphic materials

Required Qualifications

• 4-year bachelor's degree (seminary graduate or enrollment preferred)
• Demonstrated experience working with youth and leading worship in a church context
• Strong leadership and teaching skills
• Proficient musical ability (capable of leading worship from piano/guitar)
• Deep, vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Passion for connecting students to church life
• Humble, teachable attitude with strong team ministry orientation
