Associate Pastor

Position Overview

The Associate Pastor at Torrance First Baptist Church will provide integral leadership for youth ministry, contemporary worship, and church outreach, serving as a key member of the pastoral team to support the church's vision and spiritual growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive leadership for Jr High and Sr High Ministries, including weekly Youth Group, Sunday Life Group, and monthly events
• Lead contemporary worship for Sunday morning services and all-church events in coordination with the Lead Pastor
• Develop and schedule Praise Team, recruiting and training volunteer musicians and vocalists
• Assist with church outreach initiatives and support the Local Outreach Team in community service opportunities
• Manage church web page and social media platforms for Outreach Ministry
• Preach occasional Sunday services and participate in church staff meetings
• Assist with all-church visual graphics and morning worship service responsibilities
• Lead weekly Praise Team practices and develop musical talent within the congregation

Required Qualifications

• Four-year bachelor's degree (seminary graduate or enrollment preferred)
• Demonstrated experience working with youth and leading worship in a church context
• Strong leadership skills and teaching ability
• Musical proficiency in leading worship from piano or guitar
• Vibrant, consistent personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Passionate about connecting students to church life
• Humble, teachable attitude with strong team collaboration skills
