Religious Education Coordinator (Catholic or Protestant)

Position Overview

The Religious Education Coordinator will develop and execute comprehensive faith-based religious education programs for military personnel, civilians, and their families at Tinker Air Force Base, serving in close collaboration with chaplains and clergy across Catholic and Protestant faith traditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide weekly religious education programming including Sunday School, Catechism, Confirmation, RCIA, and Bible Study for all age groups
• Recruit, train, and manage religious education volunteers while maintaining program facilities and resources
• Develop and execute sacramental preparation and special events such as retreats and Vacation Bible School
• Create and implement marketing strategies using bulletin announcements and social media
• Attend chapel staff meetings and advisory council planning events
• Ensure all programming complies with Air Force Instructions, chapel Operating Instructions, and denominational standards
• Prepare and submit program budgets, attendance tracking, and administrative documentation
• Coordinate volunteer background checks and maintain comprehensive program records

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education with 2 years paid religious education experience, OR Bachelor's Degree with 4 years paid religious education experience
• Strong background in theology, education, curriculum development, and volunteer management
• Experience working in pluralistic religious environments
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Ability to pass comprehensive background checks and meet military installation security requirements
• Proficiency in managing multiple program elements simultaneously
