Position Overview
As a Chaplain at Franciscan Health Dyer Campus, you will provide compassionate spiritual support to patients, families, and staff during challenging times of illness, injury, and healing, integrating Christian principles and holistic care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist local religious groups and clergy in supporting patients' spiritual needs, encouraging active faith connections during and after illness
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams through rounding, meetings, and conferences to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Provide crisis intervention and spiritual support, responding promptly to patient and family emotional needs
- Document patient care information accurately and complete patient care records in compliance with hospital policies
- Offer ethical consultation to patients, families, and staff upon referral
- Conduct spiritual assessments and provide support through active listening, reflection, discussion, and prayer
- Ensure spiritual services are available to new patients and follow up on spiritual care offerings
- Respond to Advanced Directive consultation requests
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Theology or related field (required)
- Ecclesiastical Endorsement (required upon hire)
- Master's Degree (preferred)
- 1 year of Chaplain experience in a healthcare institution (preferred)
- National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) Certification (preferred)
- Familiarity with Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare Services (preferred)
