Part-time or PRN Hospice Aide (CNA / Nurse Assistant) for Christian Hospice Provider

Position Overview

As a part-time or PRN Hospice Aide at Empyrean Hospice, you will provide compassionate, Christ-centered care to patients in their final stages of life, serving as a critical member of our interdisciplinary care team while meeting personal care needs with professionalism and empathy.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive personal care including bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, feeding assistance, and patient transfers
• Observe and document patient conditions, reporting significant changes to nursing staff
• Take and record patient vital signs when ordered, demonstrating appropriate clinical competency
• Maintain patient confidentiality and communicate ethically and respectfully within the home setting
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as changing bed linens and doing patient laundry
• Represent Empyrean Hospice with the highest standards of professional and compassionate care

Required Qualifications

• Completed minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training
• Current CPR certification
• Licensed driver with insured, reliable automobile
• Ability to lift and transfer patients and equipment
• At least 18 years of age
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort with end-of-life care
• State-required training certifications for hospice aide
