Ministry Coordinator

Description

Church of the City New York seeks a Ministry Coordinator to significantly support and strengthen our missions and evangelism initiatives. This position will emphasize collaboration with our justice partners, volunteer engagement, and evangelistic outreach efforts.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and relational leader who excels at mobilizing volunteers, organizing impactful events, and effectively managing ministry logistics. Passion for missions, evangelism, and justice work is essential, alongside a heart for seeing individuals actively engage in the mission and vision of the church. The coordinator will also contribute dynamically to various ministry areas.

Requirements

• A Christian in submission to the authority of the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit, as evident in lifestyle. Subscribes to and is in full agreement with the Church of the City's Statement of Faith.
• A satisfactory equivalent of education, training and experience in related fields and/or educational disciplines, sufficient to qualify for the requirements of this position.

Position Responsibilities

• Coordinate and enhance missions initiatives, particularly focusing on partnerships with justice-oriented organizations and ministries.
• Manage logistics and volunteer coordination for evangelistic events, including Send Saturday, ensuring excellence and impactful community engagement.
• Facilitate clear and consistent communication among ministry partners, volunteer teams, and church leadership to maintain alignment and effectiveness.
• Organize training and support structures to empower volunteers and leaders within missions and evangelism ministries.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for special events and outreach efforts, from initial planning to execution.
• Regularly evaluate and report on ministry effectiveness, providing insights and recommendations for improvement to leadership.
• Ensure careful stewardship of resources through effective budget planning, expense tracking, and financial accountability.
• Serve flexibly and effectively across additional ministry areas as determined by the church leadership team.
