Pastor of Communities

Position Overview

The Pastor of Communities provides spiritual leadership to integrate and nurture the Bridgetown family, creating intentional pathways for people to encounter Jesus through our community small group model while supporting and developing community leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, equip, and provide pastoral care for Bridgetown Community Leaders, maintaining regular touchpoints, prayer, and coaching with special emphasis on supporting female leaders
• Implement and execute the Leader Pathway and Basics Pathway, identifying, training, and placing individuals into Bridgetown Communities
• Develop and maintain curriculum for Basics Pathway and Community Guides, ensuring alignment with church vision and teaching
• Create training resources for ongoing development of Community Leaders
• Assist in teaching and facilitating Community Leader Cohorts
• Manage Basics introductory course three times per year, including planning, teaching, registration, and group formation
• Respond to Communities-related questions with pastoral care and timeliness
• Perform additional pastoral responsibilities including baptisms, weddings, teachings, and spiritual counseling

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant ministry or leadership experience
• Demonstrated experience in recruiting and developing volunteer teams
• Strong communication, relational, and organizational skills
• Commitment to Bridgetown's staff life rhythms (Sabbath, daily prayer, personal rule of life)
• Vision-driven, action-oriented, and highly responsible
• Willing to reside in Portland, OR
• Alignment with Bridgetown's theological beliefs and leadership structure
