Social Media Intern

• Research and analyze comparable nonprofit and ministry social media accounts to evaluate performance and strategies.
• Recommend and help implement new engagement and growth strategies based on research and trends.
• Brainstorm and develop original content ideas for Christian women, ministries, churches, and faith-based audiences.
• Create Scripture-based and devotional social content aligned with APT’s beliefs and mission.
• Build weekly and monthly social media content calendars.
• Design and create social media content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, including graphics and short-form videos aligned with APT’s statement of faith, vision, mission, and values.
• Write engaging captions and hashtags tailored to our audience.
• Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages in a positive, professional, and brand-appropriate manner.
• Plan, storyboard, record, and support live social media sessions.
• Collaborate with APT leadership and media partners to support TV and broadcast programming and help integrate social media strategy with on-air content to extend reach, engagement, and audience impact.
• Create and distribute digital content such as blog posts, infographics, and videos for the website.
• Track and report engagement and performance to identify high-performing content and scalable campaigns.
• Assist with in-person photo and video content shoots as needed.
• Ensure consistent brand voice, message, and visual identity across all platforms.

Requirements

• Basic experience using WordPress, including creating and scheduling blog posts with featured images, categories, and tags.
• Strong written communication and basic copywriting skills.
• Graphic design experience using Canva (portfolio samples required).
• Ability to create content in multiple formats, including written, graphic, and video.
• Basic video editing skills (e.g., CapCut, Final Cut, or similar tools).
• Familiarity with social media scheduling tools such as Buffer or Hootsuite (Metricool experience is a plus).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong professionalism, organization, and responsiveness to email and phone communication.
• Ability to manage academic, personal, and internship responsibilities effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.

Compensation This is an unpaid, portfolio-building internship that provides lunch and travel stipends for approved in-person content shoots. The role is ideal for students seeking course credit (independent study or class project credit) and for individuals who want to gain real-world experience while contributing to a faith-based mission. The expected commitment is 10–15 hours per week for a period of four to six months. Based on performance and organizational needs, this internship may lead to a paid contract opportunity.
