Position Overview
The Events and Ministry Coordinator is a part-time role dedicated to serving senior adults in the Saginaw, TX community by creating meaningful events, connecting residents to resources, and fostering social engagement and wellness for 55+ residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a monthly schedule of 2-3 community events focused on social engagement, wellness, and resident enrichment
- Create and maintain a comprehensive monthly resource list for residents, including rent and food assistance
- Meet with residents to assess and address specific needs, connecting them to appropriate local resources
- Partner with community businesses, non-profits, and local initiatives to deliver tailored programs
- Coordinate resident workshops for adult and youth education
- Communicate effectively with onsite staff and Apartment Life supervisors
- Prepare and submit monthly activity and impact reports
- Ensure Apartment Life's core values are central to all program decisions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or related experience in event planning, social impact, or human services
- Experience serving at-risk populations (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills, including email, document creation, and reporting
- Strong event planning and organizational abilities
- Bilingual Spanish skills (helpful but not required)
- Must be 18 years or older with legal work authorization
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
